About Us

Our Parenting Team includes dedicated Parenting Support Workers guided by the Parenting Team Leader. Together, we provide trauma-informed, culturally grounded support to families across the community. Our multi-disciplinary team works alongside you to assess your family's needs, create a tailored service plan, and connect families to internal and external support. We are committed to helping families overcome challenges, strengthen relationships, and create safe nurturing home environments. Our goal is to support long-term well-being for caregivers, parents and children, contributing to a healthy, strong kahwà:tsire. Prevention is key to our approach. We work with families to build parenting skills, enhance parent-child connections, and reduce the risk of future challenges by empowering families with the tools they need to succeed.

What We Offer

To support the unique needs of families, we offer a range of services, from one-to-one support to group-based learning opportunities. We help parents and caregivers address topics such as effective communication, healthy relationships, and coping strategies. The sessions are available as needed and can be tailored to the specific group requirements.

Individual Parenting Support

We offer one-on-one parenting support tailored to the needs of each family. Support is available at the request of community members or through internal referrals. Services can include both short- and long-term guidance for caregivers and parents, depending on the situation.

Programming

Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is an evidence based, flexible program that helps parents build positive relationships, manage behavior, and create safe nurturing home environments. The program helps parents build confidence and reduce the stress of being a parent. It offers practical strategies tailored to different age groups and family needs and is therefore offered in four different programs, which can be done in group formats or individually:

  • Triple P– For caregivers and parents of children ages 2 – 12, aimed at addressing misbehavior.
  • Triple P Fear Less – For caregivers and parents of children ages 6 –14, aimed at addressing anxiety.
  • Triple P Transitions – For parents and caregivers navigating blended family dynamics.
  • Triple P Stepping Stones - Adapted for parents and caregivers of children with special needs.

Circle of Security Parenting, a program that helps caregivers understand and respond to their children’s emotional needs, fostering secure parent-child relationships and healthy attachment. It supports parents in recognizing their child's needs while learning to manage their own responses. The program can also be offered individually or in group formats.

Support Group

We facilitate support groups based on community needs, offering a safe, welcoming space for individuals and families to connect, share, and grow together. Currently, we host Special Parents, Special Kids, a monthly support group for caregivers of children with special needs or learning disabilities. Facilitated by experienced parenting support staff, this group is open to new participants at any time and focuses on emotional support, resource sharing and building resilience.

Community Campaigns & Events

Our team is actively engaged in promoting parenting support throughout the community. We execute campaigns and participate in events to raise awareness of parenting topics, strengthen support networks, and share available resources. We also deliver parenting information sessions upon request from community organizations and schools.

Co-Parenting Resources

Every co-parenting relationship is unique and has its own challenges. Our parenting team is committed to providing support and tools to help parents navigate collaboration, communication, and a child-focused relationship.

The Co-Parenting Resources Guide offers contact information for various resources to help with your co-parenting dynamic. The Wellness Journal is a self-regulation guide to help recognize symptoms of anxiety and coping mechanisms to treat heightened stress. Co-parenting can be a stressful dynamic that can go untreated. It is important to check in with yourself and care for yourself if you find yourself in a stressful situation. Contact Intake if your mental health is becoming unmanageable.
