Important information to know before applying
At TBEL, we aim to create a comfortable, safe, and respectful environment for independent elders. Before applying, here are some key points to consider about our residential facility:
Living arrangements
- Meals: Rooms do not include individual kitchens or cooking facilities. Residents are required to enjoy meals in the dining room during set mealtimes. If they don’t want those meals, residents are welcome to order in.
- Communal Living: As a shared community space, all residents must adhere to quiet hours and show respect for communal property.
- Code of Ethics: TBEL has a code of ethics that all residents must adhere to. We recommend that all residents, as well as applicants and their families, review this document in detail.
Health and safety
- Senior care guidelines: Residents must comply with all health and safety guidelines and policies for the well-being of everyone in the facility.
- Care limitations: TBEL is designed for elders who require minimal assistance. If a resident’s supervision needs exceed 30–90 minutes per day, alternative living arrangements will be coordinated with your care team, including family, home care, and a social worker – to ensure more suitable living arrangements are provided. TBEL is not equipped to offer advanced care or accommodate residents with an ISO-SMAF score of 5 or higher.
Facilities and services
No smoking indoors: Smoking is prohibited within the building, but a designated smoking shack is available outside.
Room cleaning: Residents are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their rooms, as housekeeping services are not provided.
Connectivity: Residents are responsible for setting up and covering the costs of their personal cable, phone or landline, and Wi-Fi services.
